Governor Mark Sanford (R) South Carolina has this to say about the gigantic STINKULUS bill that was passed in Congress with a total of THREE Reublican votes and is headed to President Obama's desk for signature:
"Crunching the president’s numbers, the Heritage Foundation came up with a startling figure: For every job the bill creates, American taxpayers will spend $223,000. If we add the cost of this bill to the previous efforts of the federal government to deal with the financial crisis, the American taxpayer is on the hook for $9.7 trillion."
Or, as Bloomberg News recently pointed out, “enough to pay off more than 90 percent of the nation’s home mortgages"
Only 11% of this monstrous bill is tax cuts and 100% of those go to people who make less than $40,000. Senator Chuck Schumer (D) New York thinks that the $8.00 per week tax cuts in this bill will allow people to buy and go out to eat and will stimulate this economy.
Oh, Ok. So if being able to afford two more gallons of milk per week is going to stimulate this economy, then why didn't Obama just push Americans to go grocery shopping more often? Oh wait because then you no longer have the $8.00 per week to go eat out with. This is ridiculous.
